Brasil’s National Congress – Brasilia

Iconic. Nothing says Brasilia more than this, well, except for Oscar Niemeyer’s Cathedral-Basilica of Our Lady Aparecida. I wish I had had more time to get better shots. A storm was barreling down and in this town there is nowhere to duck into to get out of the “chuva do verão” (summer rain).

Ministries Esplanade Brasilia

These are the government buildings that line the main thoroughfare. The Cathedral, National Museum, Natitonal Library and National Theater are located on the “city” end of these, with the National Congress, Ministry of Justice, Supreme Court and the Praca dos Tres Poderes on the other end. Ministry of Justice – Brasilia

Across and down the Ministries Esplanade stands the Ministry of Justice building. The amazing concept and realization of waterfalls off the building and into the ‘moat’ is poetic.
